The Seaway Valley Meat Cutting Institute provides 540 training hours towards your apprenticeship hours. Our small class size allows you to maximize your training.

We provide full accommodations for testing. Our knowledgeable instructors have over 30 years experience training our apprentices.

Our school will use our wide range of contacts to help find you a sponsor and try to ensure you a job upon graduation. We also can assist you in finding accommodations. We can rent you the tools, if you need them.

WHAT WE COVER

The Seaway Valley Meat Cutting Institute will provide you with the 18 weeks in-school training required to jumpstart your apprenticeship. Our skilled instructors will help prepare you for a career as a meat cutter by providing experience in:

FIRST STEPS

Your apprenticeship starts with registration with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU). To get started visit: www.tcu.gov.on.ca or click on the button below.

Potential meat cutting apprentices will require a sponsor (an employee that projects they will be able to employ you upon graduation). If you don’t already have a sponsor, we can help you find one. Contact us any time and we can start looking for a good match. 

There are financial incentives available for employers to encourage sponsorship.

Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP)

Get UP TO 4 CREDITS TOWARDS YOUR SSGD

Ontario Youth can be registered as an apprentice while still in high school through the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP).

NO HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA?

NO PROBLEM.
